For the tourists : from spring to summer, this is the one of most « Parisian » place to be! Although, the situation was way worse when I used to live in this neighborhood in 2013. So called « Stalincracks » everywhere, I was told several times that girls didn’t feel safe walking there. Its getting so much better for everyone to be safe at least.
The bridge on the east side slides and let some boats go through, you can chill on the canal side after watching movies (nop you need to understand French though)!
