We spent a really lovely half day walking around this tranquil wildlife oasis. Situated conveniently close to motorway access, yet you're blissfully unaware of it in the bush setting of the reserve. Enclosures are decently sized, meticulously maintained to mimic the natural habitat of the animal with the walking paths and platforms either raised or running through the enclosures offering every opportunity to successfully spot or interact with the occupants. Every staff member and park ranger we met was extremely friendly, knowledge and helpful. Tuck shiny things like jewellery and sunglasses away if you don't want to be stalked by the emus like a bird version of the paparazzi. Shows and talks are conducted on the hour from around 9am until till early afternoon making the morning the best time to arrive. There is a kayaking experience (at additional cost) on the adjacent lake or a walking trail to hike. BBQ and picnic facilities are available along with a tea room with seating on a beautiful raised verandah overlooking the park. While there isn't any glitz and glamour to the reserve, it's welcome and appropriate.
