As a Georgetown residents, I have been wanting to tour Heurich house for a couple years now. My friend and I kept looking for tickets but they were at weird times and nobody picked up the phone when you called the number. On 3/18 we found one ticket at 2 PM and one ticket at 3 PM, we showed up at 2:30 hoping they would accommodate us to tour together. The tour guy who was a fellow told me he would lose his job if he allowed be to be part of the 3PM tour, which I thought was a bit ridiculous, since I had paid for a tour, just at 2PM and the tour at 2 had one less person. He first told me that I could look on the website and call a number under tours, the number did not exist. My friend went on the 3PM tour and I had to wait for an hour in the garden for the tour to finish. This inflexibility completely ruined my day. Allowing one more person in a 3 PM tour group should not have been a big deal. I didn’t want to fellow to lose his job but he also could not tell me or provide me a number of someone that I could speak with to ask for an exception. He also was not able to reimburse me for the 2PM tour that I couldn’t go on. He said I’d have to wait till Monday to call and try to get my money back. I’d really not recommend this organization as they are completely inflexible. Honestly I’m not sure why I even wanted to tour some old rich person’s house just cause he owned a beer company. What a waste of time.
